Terrell Dinkins has always been a saver.

As a child she watched her mother create and follow a tight budget, while still saving a little bit of money every month.

By the time Dinkins was ready to go to college, she had put away enough to pay for her first year of college at Georgia Southern University. She went on to earn her MBA from Mercer University’s Stetson School of Business and Economics. She also attended the executive program for financial planning from the University of Georgia.

Dinkins is a financial advisor and wealth empowerment speaker, and she recently became an author. She published in December her first book, “One Bucket At A Time: A Woman’s Guide to Creating Wealth.”

The suggestion to write the book came from one of Dinkins’ colleagues.

“I was telling her what I tell my clients about building wealth,” Dinkins said. “She stopped me halfway through and said, ‘You’ve got to write a book.’”

Dinkins said it was on her bucket list — something she planned to do in the future.

But as fate would have it, only a few days later she was asked to give a presentation on an international cruise.

“My friend Sharon said, ‘I heard you’re going to write a book. Can you have it ready by December?’” Dinkins said.

She started her book in February 2015 and finished in September — just in time to have it published before the holidays.
